Jose Dominguez, Executive Director
Jose Dominguez is a veteran of the area's non-profit community and brings more than fifteen years of experience in non-profit management and youth program development to the position. Mr. Dominguez has managed grants at the DC Children and Youth Investment Trust Corporation, developed events such as the DC Hip Hop Theatre Festival at the DC Art Commission, and directed after school programs at the Young Playwright’s Theater and the Shakespeare Theatre. Mr. Dominguez received his BA from Southern Methodist University and his MFA in Fine Arts from the Tisch School of the Arts, New York University.

Gretchen Schermerhorn, Artistic Director
Gretchen Schermerhorn’s prints, books and paper works have been exhibited nationally and internationally in such places as New York, Boston, Santa Fe, and Phoenix. Her work is in public and permanent collections including the San Francisco Public Library and Amity Art Foundation. Her current body of work consists of a body of printed paper garments and deals with ideas of socialization versus biology. Other issues that her work explores include political and social themes such as human and animal rights, sexuality, and environmental abuse.  She teaches various classes including Papermaking, 2D Design, Mixed-Media, Printmaking and Drawing.  Ms. Schermerhorn received her MFA from Arizona State University in 2004, with a specialization in Printmaking and Papermaking. She has completed artist residencies at Columbia College Center for Book and Paper and California State University.

Helen C. Frederick, Director Emeritus
Helen C. Frederick founded Pyramid Atlantic in 1981 and has played an essential role in its development as an international arts center. Frederick has won international acclaim as a paper, print, and mixed media artist, and received the 2000 Governor's Award in the State of Maryland for excellence in the arts. In addition to her emeritus role at Pyramid, Frederick is Professor in the Department of Art and Visual Technology at George Mason University, Fairfax, VA.
