FIELDWORK: PLACING SPACE IN THE COLORFIELD REMIX
by Inga Frick and Gillian Brown
April 13 - June 9
Opening: Friday, April 13 from 6:30 - 8:30
Meet the Artists: Saturday, May 12 at 2:00pm
As part of the citywide celebration of Color Field painting, Gillian Brown and Inga Frick have created two new works that play with the implications of Color Field painting for our experience of space. Tracing imaginary geometries, Gillian circumnavigates the evening horizon while Inga loops the Washington Beltway at rush hour. In an earlier collaborative piece, a trio of swimmers converge and merge in a Rorschach explosion within an immersive field of water. You will never see Beltway traffic the same way again! For more information about the ColorField.remix project, go to www.colorfieldremix.org.

REDISCOVER IRELAND, 2007
In conjunction with Northern Ireland at the 2007 Smithsonian Folklife Festival
June 18 - August 25
Reception, November 18 from7 -
9pm
In conjunction with the 9th Biannual Book Arts Fair & Conference
In conjunction with Northern Ireland at the Smithsonian, Pyramid Atlantic is acting as a host institution to the Belfast Print Workshop and Seacourt Print Workshop artists by facilitating 2 residencies, workshops, and an exhibition “Rediscover Ireland 2007.” The residencies will take place between April 9-27, and the exhibition is June 18-August 25. The exhibit features prints produced at Pyramid Atlantic by the Belfast Print Workshop and Seacourt Workshop artists who are also participating in 2007 Smithsonian Folklife Festival. The Belfast Print Workshop in particular played a very remarkable role developing printmaking in Northern Ireland, and in many ways parallels the history and contributions of Pyramid Atlantic to contemporary printmaking. Partners in this program include the Washington Printmakers Gallery, International Art & Artists’ Hillyer Place and the Katzen Art Center, American University all of whom will host events for the Northern Ireland celebration.
