Summer/Fall Apprenticeship 2021

You've put in your time at Pyramid, but wondering what's next? Want to build your portfolio for graduate school? Are you interested in a career as a studio artist or educator? Are you an artist who has an entrepreneurial spirit? If you answered 'yes' to any of these questions and have completed a studio internship or logged 30 or more hours of volunteer service at Pyramid Atlantic, you should consider applying to our new apprenticeship program!
Pyramid will offer the opportunity to two apprenticeships a year:
• Summer/Fall Apprenticeship: June–December
• Winter/Spring apprenticeship: January–June
6 months of art gym membership
4 workshops of recipients choice during their apprenticeship period
4 hrs a month of Mentoring from Artistic Director or Artistic Associates
Participation in formal and informal group critiques between staff, interns, fellows, and artistic associates
$500 seed money to create a marketable “Pyramid exclusive” item for the PAAC gift shop and 40% of sales of said product.
Apprentices are asked to:
work for PAAC 4 hrs/week. Typical tasks include support in areas of exhibitions, outreach, studio maintenance, and commissions
teach 4 introduction level six hour classes during apprenticeship (unpaid)
Must have completed a studio internship or have logged over 30 hours volunteer work for Pyramid Atlantic
Strong interest in art, education, be highly motivated, and comfortable working in a studio environment
A current resume of work experience
A letter of intent, highlighting why this apprenticeship is important to you and your skills and experience
10-20 images of recent work
