August 3, 2018 - Opening Reception: The Innate Thread

THE INNATE THREAD opens August 3 with a reception from 6 – 9 pm. The exhibition runs through August 25, 2018. Called a “virtuoso lithographer” by Juxtapoz Magazine, Kathryn Polk’s seemingly simple subject matter, women going about daily life, is deeply connected to her southern upbringing with “traditional” values of the 1950s and 60s. Through precisely rendered visual narratives referencing the past to the present, she depicts personal, humorous, and sardonic memories and thoughts through the eyes of all the women in her bloodline; hence, “The Innate Thread.”
