Our new 13,000 square foot facility has printmaking, screenprinting, letterpress and papermaking studios, a book bindery, woodshop, a shop, and an art gallery. We have 18 private artist studios in the new location, located on three levels (ground, second and mezzanine). Studios size ranges between
136 to 237 sq. ft, lease for $235-$500 a month and have 24 hour access. All private studio artists are required to sign an annual leasing agreement and a code of conduct agreement.
We envision a vibrant environment that fosters artistic excellence and a sense of community; an enabling platform for accomplished artists to achieve their artistic endeavors. We see a group of artists who work with a diverse set of media and create a community that represents all that Pyramid Atlantic stands for - artistic excellence, educational enrichment and community engagement.
As a part of the relationship, artists are expected to:
Be on site for minimum of 15 hrs per week (10 hours if sharing a studio)
Give one artist talk about recent work, per year.
Open studio to the public for up to 5 events per year. Events included are "Gateway Open Studios” & "Hyattsville Historic Homes Tour" and similar.
Volunteer for 1 Pyramid Atlantic event per year- helping with set-up/break-down (chairs, tables, and pouring wine). These events include open houses, opening receptions, etc.
