An In-Studio Workshop!

In this class students will learn the process of binding a flat back closed cover book. Students will learn how to prepare and sew their signatures over tapes, how to make a case with a hinged spine, and how to combine the two! In this class we will also get the chance to utilize some of the bindery's equipment, such as the guillotine, board shears, and nipping press. All materials are provided with the materials fee, but students are more than welcome to bring their own decorative papers and book cloth to personalize their books. Everyone in this workshop will walk away with an entirely handmade, hardcover book.

Level: Intermediate

Prerequisite: Bookbinding I (6 hour workshop) or similar bookbinding experience.

Registration closes August 11, 2021.

Please Note: (As of May 25, 2021)—While we are encouraged by the numbers reported locally and nationally, Pyramid is committed to the health of our artists and visitors. At this time, we are choosing to be more conservative than the local ordinances. We have increased our studio capacity numbers in some areas but will continue to operate the building at a reduced capacity and require mask wearing in all public spaces. Please contact us with any additional questions or concerns.
