This workshop covers the many exciting possibilities of creating plaster molds with the intent of casting shaped paper. On the first day, we will begin with the “how” of mold creation using clay or a found object to capture different shapes. By emphsising techniques for attaining the best cast, students will better get a feel for the process. For the second session, students will learn how to properly mix and pour plaster around their object to create a mold of it. In the third and final session, students will have the opportunity to create a replica of the object/shape by casting paper into the molds and discuss advanced and alternative media for future projects.
All levels welcome.
