A Hybrid (online and in-studio) Workshop!

Want to learn more about unique additive processes like flocking, gold leaf, and paper dying to add some extra flare to your screenprints?

In this intermediate workshop, students will learn four unique additive and decorative processes: flocking, paper dying, gold leaf, and puff paint. Students can use these materials/processes to embellish and add a stylistic flare to their screenprint projects. The first session will be a virtual demonstration of how to apply each method to their prints. In the next session, students split into smaller group sessions to make their prints and apply any of the additive methods.

Level: Intermediate - the class is recommended for students with prior screenprinting experience.

Class Schedule:

The first session will be held online via Zoom and then students will sign up for one in-studio session to print. To ensure safety and adequate social spacing, all in-studio work sessions are broken into four groups of 3 students each. Please select one in-studio session (Group A, B, C, or D):

Day 1, Introduction and Overview: Wednesday, December 9, 6pm-9pm EST via Zoom (all students)

Day 2, In-Studio Session Options (choose one):

  • Group A (3 students max): Saturday, December 12, 10am-1pm

  • Group B (3 students max): Saturday, December 12, 2pm-5pm

  • Group C (3 students max): Sunday, December 13, 10am-1pm

  • Group D (3 students max): Sunday, December 13, 2pm-5pm

With your registration you'll receive the full materials list (with helpful links) to purchase your items, any helpful handouts about the process, as well as a quick 1-page "how-to" on downloading and using the Zoom video app.

PLEASE NOTE: The online session will be recorded for Pyramid Atlantic's private use to better optimize our programming and share as examples for funders. You may mute your microphone or turn off your camera if you do not wish to be recorded.

Pyramid is dedicated to protect the safety and health of its employees and guests. Class size will be limited to ensure adequate spacing for students and strict cleaning regimens will be implemented for the space and tools, both before and after each class.
