This position is a non-paid, work-exchange Artistic Associate position. In exchange for managing the studios on Thursday evenings, the studio manager will receive a key to the building and 24-hour access to studios. He/she can use the studios to work on their own art, provided it does not conflict with a scheduled class or other event. We are looking for someone who is responsible and passionate about printmaking, papermaking and/or artist books.

General Description:

  • Manage and maintain the art studios on Thursday evenings, 6-9pm.

  • Supervise and schedule evening studio renters and accept payment at the end of their sessions.

  • Lock up the building, turn off the lights and equipment at 9pm.

  • Handle gift shop sales.

  • Accept and process materials fee, on nights that there is a class scheduled.


Other Responsibilities:

  • Attend staff meetings that take place every other month.

  • Participate in quarterly PAAC program events (open house, artist talks, fundraisers, etc.)

  • Contribute to dialogue and ways to make studios more vibrant, safer, and more active.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Two years minimum experience working in 2D, printmaking, papermaking and/or book arts studio. 

  • Good attitude and communication skills

  • Retail experience
